Gene Houston, founder and owner, started a painting company in January of 2000, after working for friends and family on projects since 1989. Throughout the years, Gene had come to realize that his customers needed more than just a paint job. With the new demand and some help from "Over Qualified" employees, as he puts it, Gene became a General Contractor to provide his clients the value added service of Kitchen remodeling.
As this demand became too big for Gene to handle on his own, he sought out a small group of highly qualified, educated people to help in his pursuit to provide a contracting service and experience unlike any other. In February of 2006, Gene partnered with Shevy Akason, and his retired father Carl Houston to open up a special kitchen showroom in Tustin, Ca called Makenas, after his 5 yr old daughter. The Showroom sign out front says "Kitchens" as no one would really know what Makenas is- (YET). Each of our staff is College educated, but more importantly, very experienced and a pleasure to work with! "At the end of the day", as Gene puts it, "Its all about relationships and Trust, beyond that- this is not Rocket Science!"
By coordinating designers, finance managers, customer service reps, project managers and the experienced team of installation professionals, they have proven the skills on over a thousand happy homes all over Southern California.
